Reports of frozen pipes and cracked water mains continue as Connecticut slowly emerges from its deep freeze.
The latest victims are residents of 33 houses in the neighborhood bounded by Woodycrest, Crescent and Shadycrest drives in East Hartford. They were without water early Thursday because of water main breaks, according a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan District Commission.
Some of the residents are without gas service as well because a gas line near the work area had to be shut down as a precaution, Kerry Martin said.
A sink hole formed during the work, but there were no reports of injuries.
