A slice of sudden spring weather has them hooking things in Ellington.

It’s hard to believe less than a week after breaking out of the Polar Vortex, there are golfers hitting the links.

The fairways were bustling at Rolling Meadows Country Club in Ellington, which strives to stay open, even in cold weather.

The course re-opened on Sunday and Monday for a busy day on the greens too.

The 18-hole course was covered in snow up until Saturday, but the recent rain and thawing temps have allowed for golfers to get swinging again.

“I would say 40 hours ago we were covered in snow with very few spots of open grass,” said Mark Castelhano, Director Of Golf At Rolling Meadows. “With the help of the rain, it just melted over night.”

Before teeing off at the par-four tenth hole, Dennis Jolly, from Hebron said, “I love it, everybody should be doing this today, leave work and enjoy yourselves.”

Rolling Meadows plans to stay open as long as the weather allows, they are even allowing golfers to take carts on the course
