HARTFORD — Police arrested a 34-year-old suspected drug dealer after a car chase through Parkville on Wednesday morning.

Asa Boyd, of 95 James St., drove to the parking lot of his address where he exited his car and a ran into the back of the building, police said.

While running up a rear stairwell, Boyd tossed a firearm that he had pulled from his waistband. He attempted to kick in the door of a second floor apartment but was apprehended by pursuing officers, police said.

A .45-caliber Glock pistol with a magazine containing 13 rounds and one round in the chamber was seized, police said.

Boyd had 2.9 grams of crack cocaine on his person.

He was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a firearm, weapons in a motor vehicle, high capacity magazine, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, interfering with police and third-degree criminal mischief.
