MIDDLETOWN — A 38-year-old man was arrested Saturday morning for allegedly stealing copper wire from a Middletown business, police said.

Roman Skrzypecki, of Southington, was charged with third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, sixth-degree larceny and criminal mischief, police said.

The department had received several complaints of burglary from Electrical Wholesalers at 705 Middle St., police said. Video surveillance showed the suspect breaking in to the building repeatedly, always on Saturday mornings approximately 5:30 a.m.

Police set up surveillance Saturday morning and witnessed the suspect, later identified as Skrzypecki, enter the building through the roof and drop onto metal storage bins inside.

Skrzypecki was arrested on the roof of the building and brought safely to the ground with the help of the Westfield fire department ladder truck, police said.

Police said more charges may filed against Skrzypecki as the investigation continues.
