STORRS — A University of Connecticut student was arrested Saturday on numerous drug charges after university police found more than $30,000 in drugs ranging from mushrooms to heroin in his dorm room, UConn police said.

Alexander Angeloff, 22 of 31 North Forest Circle, West Haven, is facing 14 separate drug charges, including operating a drug factory, and is being held on a $500,000 bond pending his arraignment in Rockville Superior Court on Monday, police said.

Angeloff was arrested after university police used a search warrant on his dorm room at Grange Hall Saturday morning and discovered a warehouse of illicit drugs, police said. Grange Hall is a residential dorm room on the Storrs campus.

Police seized three pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, more than two grams of heroin, nearly two grams of PCP, 488 doses of LSD, 1,782 doses of Ecstasy, 75 grams of marijuana, more than one gram of crystal methamphetamine and about $4,700 in cash, according to UConn police.

All told, more than $30,000 in illegal drugs were seized from Angelhoff’s room, police said.

Police had obtained the search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into narcotics trafficking on campus. University police said the investigation was started several months ago and is continuing.
