SOUTH WINDSOR — Speed appears to be a factor in a crash that killed a local man over the weekend, police said.

Ryan Martin, 25, was the front-seat passenger in a 2008 Infiniti coupe when it spun out and hit a tree in a residential neighborhood early Sunday, Lt. Scott Custer said Monday. He was transported to Manchester Memorial Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The driver, Adam Lincoln, 24, and passenger Konrad Kryla, 26, also were transported to the hospital for treatment. Like Martin, both are from South Windsor, police said.

They are expected to recover from their injuries, Custer said.

The crash happened about 2 a.m. near the intersection of Hillside and Saddleback drives. The speed limit in the area is 30 mph.

All three occupants had to be extricated due to the severe damage to the car.

The South Windsor Police Traffic Unit and Metro Traffic Services, a regional reconstruction team, are investigating.

Anyone with information that may help investigators is asked to contact Agent Mark Halibozek at 860-644-2551.
