TORRINGTON — A 25-year-old man died at the hospital after he was stabbed at a home on North Elm Street early Sunday, police said.

Officers were dispatched to 164 N. Elm St. around 3:30 a.m. on the report that a man had been stabbed in the chest. When police arrived they found the stabbing victim, who was taken by ambulance to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital for treatment of serious, life-threatening injuries.

The victim, David A. Vazquez, who lived in the home, was pronounced dead at the hospital Sunday morning.

Police said the stabbing does not appear to be random and they believe the victim knew the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
