The good news, spring fans? I see 50 degree temperatures in the near future.

The good news, winter fans? I see snow in the nearer future.

A cold start to the Sunday night forecast as temperatures drop to single digits for a good chunk of the state overnight. High temps Monday, under a lot of sunshine , won’t get to the freezing mark.

More snow comes Tuesday morning.  It’s a fresh coating of new powder with a minor disturbance that may disturb the morning commute. Computer models aren’t spitting out big totals with this weathermaker, but enough for trouble, around 1-3″ with higher elevations getting the worst of it.

Then, finally, a thaw. Temps rise nicely through the rest of the week, into the 40s by Wednesday. That means a potential storm for Friday will be wet and not white. Clear out the storm drains and gutters of snow now so we don’t have to deal with additional flooding potential as we finally melt some of this snow!

Have a great week – Meteorologist Matt Scott  (@themattcast on Twitter).
