WATERFORD — A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the death of a Waterford man who was shot in December 2012.

Kyle Seidel, a 34-year-old husband and father of three, was shot and killed on Dec. 21, 2012, while on his way to pick up Chinese food take-out for his family, according to the Chief State’s Attorney’s office.

About 20 minutes after leaving home, Seidel was found in the parking lot of the Waterford Family Bowl suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest, Det. Sgt. Joseph DePasquale said. He was taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The bowling alley is on Boston Post Road, less than half a mile from the Chinese restaurant.

The circumstances leading up to Seidel’s death are still unknown, according to the Chief State’s Attorney’s office. The reward was authorized by Governor Dannel P. Malloy at the request of Michael L. Regan, State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of New London.
