Melting snow and rain are weighing heavily on roofs across Connecticut.
In Hartford, a 12-man crew with Big And Small Landscaping has been on top of this apartment complex for several days.
The workers say water has already backed up into the walls of a few apartments, and there have been subtle signs of buckling ceilings.
The crew is clearing every square foot of the roofs by hand to relieve the pressure.
“Every single time that you pick up a shovel, you’re doing about 40 pounds, you hear every time the snow hits the floor it makes a loud thump, this is snow, ice and water mixed together,” Big And Small Landscaping owner Luis Torres said.
