The New Britain-Berlin Rotary Club plans to award a total of $8,500 through scholarships to four high school seniors from New Britain and Berlin, it announced.

The aid is targeted to students who will be pursuing bachelor’s degrees starting this fall. There will be three $2,000 scholarships; the fourth award, in honor of former chapter President Judith W. Brown, is for $2,500 for a female student.

“The scholarships will be offered to students based on financial need, achievement, community service and extracurricular activities during the student`s high school career. Applications for the scholarships are available in the guidance offices of New Britain High School, Berlin High School and E.C. Goodwin Technical High School,” the Rotary said in a statement.

Applications may also be obtained by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to: New Britain-Berlin Rotary Club, Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 1794, New Britain, CT 06050-1794. The deadline for applying is April 11.
