Dr. Kendra Becker-Musante from Family Wellness Centre of Connecticut stops by to talk about the health benefits of dark chocolate.


There is good news about chocolate…After eating some, it increases mental alertness and mental stamina. It may even improve math skills.

The plant antioxidant found in chocolate has been found to widen blood vessels and increase blood flow in the brain. The most flavanoid-rich options are usually the darkest and bitterest, like cocoa powder and baking chocolate.

It also reduces cravings by increasing the ‘happy hormones’ in the brain.
