This is an archived article and the information in the article may be outdated. Please look at the time stamp on the story to see when it was last updated.

After a cold and snowy start to February, Thursday began a small stretch of mild weather. Highs were between 43 and 48 for most of the state under cloudy skies. Rain moved into the state Thursday night, bringing fog and limiting visibility. The rain will intensify by Friday afternoon before the system moves out.

The weekend looks nice. Saturday and Sunday should be sunny with highs continuing to be in the upper 40s to near 50. The bad news? Arctic air moves in starting Monday and temperatures will plunge below freezing.
