Sunday will remain mild with the chance for a rain shower, but winter weather hasn’t finished with us yet. There are two chances for snow in the next week: overnight Sunday into Monday and then Wednesday.

As it turns colder Sunday night, a weak area of low pressure will scoot south of the area with a band of light snow that could accumulate a coating to an inch by Monday morning. Therefore be prepared for the possibility of slick roads for the Monday morning commute.

Even colder weather returns during the week.  Highs will be in the mid 30s Monday, before diving into the 20s at the end of the workweek. That’s about 20 degrees below average for this time of year.

Looking Ahead

Overnight: Clear to partly cloudy.  Low: 25-35.

Sunday: Watch for icy spots early; otherwise mostly cloudy, still mild.  High: mid-upper 40s. Wind: WSW 5-10 mph.

Sunday night:  Cloudy, chance for light snow (coating to an inch by Monday morning). Low: 25-30.

Monday:  Becoming partly sunny, blustery and colder.  High: mid 30s.

Monday night: Clear and cold. Low: teens.

Tuesday:  Mostly sunny, cold. High: low 30s.

Wednesday: Chance for light snow:  High: 25-30.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, blustery and very cold.  High: 20s.

Friday:  Bright sunshine but still very cold.  High: 20s.
