Comedian and actress Lisa Lampanelli, joined by Antonia Namnath, CEO of the Weight Loss Surgery Foundation of America, talk about weight loss surgery options and Lampanelli shares her own story of losing more than 100 pounds.

Lampanelli had gastric-sleeve surgery and went from her heaviest weight of 248 pounds to 142 pounds today. The weight loss took about a year. Since her own surgery, she has become an advocate and ambassador for the Weight Loss Surgery Foundation.

Gastric-sleeve surgery reduces and reshapes the stomach to roughly a quarter of its size, but Lampanelli said her weight loss also required maintenance.

“I’m keeping a close watch. I don’t want to gain again,” she said. “I have to figure out my addiction issue and how I even got overweight in the first place.”
