BRIDGEPORT — A suspect in a fatal shooting on July 24, 2013 was apprehended Tuesday morning in New York, police said.
United States Marshals took the suspect, 36-year-old Jose Manuel Torres, into custody on a warrant. He will be extradited to Bridgeport.
Investigators believe Torres shot and killed 27-year-old Pablo Aquino on Pixlee Place, near Clermont Avenue. Police said investigators suspect that a dispute between Torres and Aquino, who were neighbors, led to the shooting.
“Detectives did outstanding work on this case and quickly identified Torres as the killer. I want to thank the U.S. Marshals for their support,” said Police Chief Joseph L. Gaudett Jr.
