New Haven Police Arrest Suspect In Year-Old Homicide

NEW HAVEN — Police arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting last year in front of Haven Market on Chapel Street.

The suspect, Tavares Barnes of Hamden, was apprehended Wednesday night at his adult education class. He is being charged with felony murder, murder, first-degree robbery and firearms charges.

The victim, Qusaan “QB” McKoy was shot multiple times on April 29, 2013. He died at Yale-New Haven Hospital, police said.
