Although we’ve had more than our fair share of cold weather this winter, a particular source of heat has been in short supply.
Due to the extreme cold, wood pellet fuel has been scare because most retailers burned through their winter stock, without more deliveries from their suppliers scheduled.
Torrington’s CT Pellet, however, was still giving their regular customers a warm feeling.
The state’s largest supplier of wood pellets continues to get resupplied, but Thursday the company rationed customers to ten bags each.
“I’ve been coming here probably for the last two months and every time I’ve come I’ve been lucky I guess, they’ve had them,” customer Darrell Becker said.
CT Pellet said around 140,000 homes in the state burn wood pellets.
