BRIDGEPORT — A man suffered serious burns in a fire at a vacant building downtown early Friday.
The fire at 1150 Main St. was reported at 3:37 a.m. Dispatchers were also told a man was inside the building, said police spokesman William Kaempffer.
Firefighters had to cut through a locked metal security gate to get to the man. He was taken to an area hospital with serious burns, said Kaempffer.
