Last season the Weaver Beaver boys basketball team ended their season with a heart breaking double overtime loss to Granby in championship game at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

This year didn’t start on a high note either, just weeks in to the season the head Coach was suspended indefinitely and the Beavers were forced to forfeit two games after an ineligible player was used.

Junior Varsity coach Reggie Hatchett then stepped in as interim coach and the team finished the regular season 12-8 and last night captured the Central Connecticut Conference Title with a 59-57 win over Maloney.

Both Coach and players say their work isn’t done the ultimate goal is a return visit to the finals fueled by a team effort.
