HARTFORD — Police seized a firearm, 81 grams of crack cocaine and other evidence of drug sales while searching the South Street home of a suspected drug dealer on Friday, police said.
The suspect, Travale Givens, 33, was found on Airport Road with 247 grams of cocaine in his pants, police said.
He is charged with criminal possession of a firearm, obliterated serial number, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of a school, operating a drug factory, risk of injury to a minor and possession of a controlled substance.
The search of Givens’ second floor apartment at 129 South Street was executed around 4 p.m. on Friday, police said. In addition to a Ruger. 380 pistol with an obliterated serial number and the crack cocaine, officers found a shoulder holster, ammunition, scales, bags, mixers and cutting agents, police said.
Givens is a convicted felon with 31 prior arrests in Hartford, police said. He is being held with bond set at $800,000.
