A search for survivors, and answers, continues after a deadly blast in Harlem that killed three people and injured more than 60 others.

At least ten people are still missing after the explosion leveled two buildings Wednesday morning.

City leaders say it appears a gas leak fueled it, and a warning of the danger came too late.  They say 15 minutes before the explosion residents were calling Con Edison, reporting the smell of gas.   A utility company spokeswoman confirms a crew was dispatched within two minutes of the call and arrived just minutes after the buildings blew up.

Two five-story buildings collapsed. They housed 15 apartments, a storefront church, and a piano store.

The massive blast rocked the city just after 9:30 Wednesday morning.  It was felt more than a mile away .

Evangelist Brantley lives nearby, “My windows shook and I thought they blew out. The pictures on the wall came off the wall. The explosion was a very large blast.”
