Police Looking For Hit-And-Run Driver Who Hit A Little Girl In New Haven

NEW HAVEN — Police are investigating a hit and run accident that left an 8-year-old New Haven girl injured, police said.

The incident was reported at 7:26 a.m. at Ferry and Pine streets.

Police said the girl was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital and is being treated for what hospital staff told police were non-life threatening injuries.

New Haven Police Chief Dean M. Esserman met with the girl and her family and said the girl is expected to make a full recovery.

Police are searching for a white van with double rear doors with windows, police said. The van may have damage to its front passenger side near the headlight. The headlight may also be damaged.

Anyone who saw anything or who has information is asked to call New Haven police at 203-946-6316.
