GLASTONBURY — A local man faces assault and other charges after bashing a housemate in the head with a flashlight, police said.

Andrew Casella, 57, of 100 Hubbard Drive, was to be arraigned Tuesday in Superior Court in Manchester on charges of second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call.

Police said Casella struck his housemate, Michael Sylvester, 46, after the two had been involved in a dispute. Police said alcohol was involved.

Sylvester was charged with disorderly conduct and was also due in court Tuesday.

Police went to the house about 3 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a man bleeding from the head.
