EAST HAVEN — Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is set to meet with shoreline home and business owners today to discuss a new fund to help those vulnerable to damage from flooding and storms.

The $25 million Shoreline Resiliency Fund would allow people to get low-interest loans to flood-proof homes, elevate homes and protect businesses. The money has been included in Malloy’s proposed budget, which has yet to be approved by the state legislature.

Malloy will travel to Cosey Beach, an area devastated by Superstorm Sandy and Tropical Storm Irene, joined by Department of Housing Commissioner Evonne Klein and other state officials. The meeting starts at the East Haven beach house at 2 p.m.
