Gov. Dannel Malloy is doing some housecleaning.  He wants to throw out about a thousand pages of outdated, redundant or otherwise obsolete state regulations.

Over the past few months state department heads and everyday people have offered some suggestions to repeal everything from taxes to regulations on guns.

One resident suggested repealing the mandate to have a license plate on the front of cars.  Another wants to lower the drinking age.

State department heads have outlined hundreds of irrelevant regulations still on the books, including one that says no woman can work alone between  1 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Lawmakers are considering the governor’s bill and will take action on it next week.
