SOUTHINGTON — A New Britain man faces attempted murder, first-degree assault and a firearms charge after police say he shot a man early Sunday in a parking lot near Center Street.
Police said they took Jesus Morales Jr., 31, of Long Swamp Road into custody near his home about 10:30 a.m. Sunday. He was held on $1 million bail and is to be arraigned Monday morning in Superior Court in New Britain.
Police responded to the shooting after receiving a 911 call at 1:40 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived they found a 22-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Police did not release additional information about the shooting.
