HARTFORD — An Essex man faces up to eight years in prison for a drunken driving crash on an I-84 exit ramp four years ago that killed a motorcyclist.

Shawn Osinski, 54, pleaded no contest Monday to second-degree manslaughter with a motorvehicle and will be sentenced June 30. He faces a minimum of 3 1/2 years in prison and will be on special parole when he is released from prison.

Osinski was behind the wheel of a friend’s Toyota Rav 4 shortly before 1 a.m. Aug. 18, 2010 when he drove the wrong way onto the Sisson Avenue exit ramp from eastbound I-84 in Hartford. Riding his motorcycle off the highway at the same time was James Glee, 29, of East Haven.

Osinski, who blood tests later revealed was drunk at the time of the crash, told state police he was driving up the ramp, saw a headlight and then felt a bang. The airbag in the Toyota deployed.
