HARTFORD — Shots were fired during a home invasion on Gillett Street late Tuesday night, police said.

Officers did not find any wounded victims, Sgt. William Mooney said. He said the robbery appeared to be drug-related.

Police were called to 31 Gillett St. shortly before 11:15 p.m., Mooney said. They found spent shell casings and three occupants, none of whom had been shot. They also found a lockbox with illegal narcotics inside, he said.

One occupant said he was visiting his cousin when three masked men — one of whom had a 9-mm handgun — came charging in, Mooney said. A shot rang out, the man told officers.

Officers checked city hospitals and the home of one of the occupants who had fled the scene, but they never found any shooting victims, he said.

Police continue to investigate.
