A 2-month-old Hartford girl is in critical condition after sustaining injuries Monday afternoon.

Hartford Police detectives continue to investigate what may have caused the trauma after receiving a 911 call from 798 Capitol Avenue, Monday.

Dannie Sears, a resident of the multi-family home, says her 2-month-old god daughter, named Adore Marie Daniels, lives upstairs with her mother and father.

Sears says she was a healthy infant until she had to be rushed to the hospital Monday afternoon.

“We don’t know what happened. Apparently she had bleeding on her brain. She made it through surgery. It’s an investigation, but they’re saying that she was shook.  Her mother brought her downstairs to me saying she was scared, she didn’t know what happened to her child. When I looked at her and touched her I saw her eyes going to the side and she just didn’t look right. She wouldn’t respond,” says Sears.

Sears says Daniels was sent into surgery and listed in critical condition at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

“She’s fighting for her life. She’s a strong little baby. She’s beautiful. She’s active. She was healthy … you know?”

Hartford Police Department major crimes detectives were seen inside and out of the home Monday and had one woman step into their police car for possible questioning.

“I hope that the infant is safe and alive, of course,” said neighbor, Christian Roby.

While choking back tears, Sears said she used to take a picture of Adore-Marie every time she came downstairs to visit.

She’s not holding onto hope that there will be many more photos in her future.

“It’s just tragic. Nobody wants to point fingers, and we don’t know what happened, but just pray for her that she gets through this,” says Sears.
