A 2-month-old girl who was critically injured last week when she was allegedly thrown head-first into a bassinet died of abusive head trauma, police said.

The death of Adore Daniels was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner’s office.

The charges against the father, 32-year-old Marcus Rooks, who police say threw the baby into the bassinet, will likely be amended.

Rooks already has been charged with first-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor. He was ordered held on $1 million bond after his arraignment last week.

According to an arrest warrant, Rooks was preparing to take the baby to visit his mother on Sunday, April 13, when the baby became fussy.

The baby’s mother, Lavasha Outlaw, had left Adore in Rooks’ care while she went to work, according to police.
