A world-renowned deep sea explorer based here in Connecticut shared his take on the missing Malaysian jetliner.

It took Dr. Robert Ballard just nine days to find the Titanic…the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is coming up on seven weeks.

So far, no crash site and no plane wreckage have been found.

Since the plane’s disappearance, several countries, including the United States, have been involved in the search by sea and by air.

Search areas have shifted from the Gulf of Thailand, to the South China Sea, to the Indian Ocean, and now about a thousand miles off the coast of western Australia.

“It’s in a very remote part of the world and a very deep part of the world and a very rugged part of the world, and the box that they’re searching right now is almost 80% complete, but I had to search the Titanic box 90% before I found it,” Dr. Ballard said.

Dr. Ballard believes the missing plane will be found and that it’s just a matter of time.
