VERNON — A suspected drug dealer and his girlfriend were arrested Thursday after selling crack cocaine during a “buy/bust” operation in the parking lot of a bar, police said.

The suspect was identified as Mark Alicea, 27, of Manchester. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance within 1500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics, illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension and two counts of sale of a controlled substance.

Lizmarie Negron, 20, was charged with conspiracy to sell narcotics and conspiracy to possess narcotics.

The operation took place in the parking lot of a bar on Route 83. Police seized 10 bags of heroin, 1.5 grams of crack cocaine and a 1992 Buick LeSabre, police said.

Officers then searched Alicea and Negron’s home at 9 Avon Street in Manchester. They seized three grams of heroin, 10 folds of heroin packaged for sale, two grams of crack cocaine and packaging material.

Alicea is facing additional charges as a result of the search, police said.
