A few scattered showers will exit the region through the early morning hours Sunday as the cold front slowly moves offshore. Fortunately, the cold front clears the Northeast in time for a beautiful Mother’s Day with sunshine, and comfortable temperatures, with afternoon highs reaching the mid to upper 70s. The workweek will start with a taste of summer with sunshine and temperatures reaching the low 80s on Monday. Another cold front will drop south Monday night into early Tuesday with a band of showers and cooler temperatures. Cool high pressure out of Central Canada will allow for some sunshine Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday clouds increase ahead of a coastal storm that could deliver a soaking rain by Friday
