Joey Ternullo of Middletown has been racing cars for more than eight years, starting out driving quarter midgets, then moving on to the bandolero class, and this season he is racing legend cars, reaching speeds up to and over 100 miles an hour.

But what is really surprising is that Ternullo is just 15 years old and doesn’t even have a driver’s license.

Last season Ternullo captured the Wild and Wacky Wednesday championship at the Waterford Speed Bowl.

And this season he’s off to a fast start with a third-place finish at Waterford and a fourth-place finish at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
