NEW BRITAIN — Police charged a 22-year-old local man in connection with the stabbing death of a woman on Saturday.
Tyris Johnson, of 30 Cornelius Way, was arrested Monday night and charged with one count of murder in connection with the death of Laura Barlow, 42, of 1403 Corbin Ave., police said.
Barlow was spotted by passing motorists at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Lafayette Street and Beaver Street, police said. She was taken to the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Her death was declared a homicide Monday by the chief medical examiner’s office, police said.
Police said Johnson admitted involvement in in Barlow’s death during an interview. Johnson is being held on $1 million bond and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in New Britain Superior Court.
