PORTLAND — Police said they are looking for a Ford pick-up truck with Virginia plates and its occupants after they tried to coax a child to get inside Tuesday.
The child was at the base of a driveway after getting off a school bus when the shiny black truck stopped, police said in a press release Wednesday. The driver asked if the student needed a ride up the driveway to the house.
The child said no and started walking away when the offer was made a second time, the release said.
The truck was described as a newer-style, four-door pick-up being operated by a white man in his early 20s. The man had a stocky build and brownish/red hair and a close-cropped beard.
His passenger was described as an Asian woman in her early 20s with a thin build. She was wearing a lime green tank top, police said in the note.
Anyone with information about the truck and/or its occupants should call Portland police, at 860-342-6780.
