Hartford Firefighter Arrested, Police Say

HARTFORD — A firefighter has been placed on administrative leave after his arrest at the scene of a disturbance on Babcock Street Thursday night, police said.

Julian Perez, 26, of East Hartford had marijuana and a gun — a Ruger .38-caliber revolver — on him, according to a news release by Deputy Chief Brian Foley.

According to Foley, officers were in the area of 33 Babcock St. about 10:45 p.m. when they heard a disturbance. They charged Perez with possession of a controlled substance, second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct, he said.
