Bristol School Out For The Day After Bomb Threat

BRISTOL — Northeast Middle School has been dismissed for the day after a noted referring to a bomb was found, police said.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m., a student found the note written on a piece of paper, Lt. Richard Guerrera said. It said the bomb would explode at the school on Wednesday, he said.

School staff and police were alerted, and the decision was made to evacuate the building and dismiss early, he said. The school is at 530 Stevens St.

Police remained at the scene and were waiting for a bomb squad, Guerrera said shortly after 2:15 p.m.
