Connecticut State Police are investigating what they termed a home invasion in Montville where a man was shot by the intruders.

According to State Police, two masked men entered a home at 202 Maple Ave. in Montville around 11 p.m. Thursday night. They struck a man on his head and forced him into the kitchen. The resident then attempted to run out of the house and was shot in the back by one of the intruders. A female in the house was not injured.

The male was treated at Backus Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Police are searching for the suspects.

The State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad Detectives responded to the scene and investigating and are asking any one who may have information to contact them at 860 848-6500.

On 6/5/14 at 11:06 p.m. State Police Troop E received a 911 call reporting that a subject had been shot at a private home located at #202 Maple Ave. in Montville.

 

State Troopers and EMS responded to the scene and found a male subject that had been shot in the back. The wounded subject reported that two masked males had entered his residence struck him in the head, and forced him into the kitchen area of the residence. The male subject attempted to run out of the house and was shot by one of the suspects in the back. The wounded subject was provided emergency care at the scene and was transported to Backus Hospital and is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

 

A female resident was in the home and was not injured.

 

Troopers searched the area for the suspects and provided information to surrounding police of the incident. The State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad Detectives responded to the scene to conduct this investigation. The crime scene was processed and physical and forensic evidence was collected. State Police Detectives are currently following leads and information developed in this case.
