A Montville resident opened an envelope and found it contained white powder Saturday afternoon, state police said.
A resident at 18 Hunter Road in Montville reported the incident, and samples of the powder are being tested by the state police crime lab, Lt. Paul Vance said. Toxicology testing is expected to take a week.
There was no evacuation of the residence.
