The early season Struggles continued Thursday night as the Connecticut Sun dropped their sixth game of the season to Bria Hartley Stef Dolson and the Washington Mystics by a slim eight point margin. So Saturday night Katie Douglas and the rest of the Sun look to get back in the win column.
Against her old team the Indiana Fever who are riding a four game win streak.
Early in the first half Sun defense sets the tone. Alyssa Thomas and Kelsey Griffin combine for the Connecticut block. Then Renee Montgomery starts the break Thomas at the other end feeds Katie Douglas for two of her fifteen points as Sun open an early lead.
Still in the first half Alex Bentley pulls up behind the arc for three of her game high and career high 21. As Sun lead at the break 45-35.
All night Connecticut got to the loose balls. Off the in bound deflection Alyssa Thomas goes up with the nifty move for two of her 11 points one of five Sun in double figures.
And the D kept producing. Bentley gets the steal and starts the break and finishes with one of her five assists to Chiney Ogwumike who posted her ninth straight double figure game to start her career as the Connecticut Sun got the much needed victory 88-71.
