Police in South Windsor and Manchester are still investigating after crashes that killed two men just miles apart around the same time early Sunday morning.

On Route 30, also known as Oakland Road, in South Windsor the driver of a Camaro lost control around 2 a.m. and caused a path of destruction that the driver, a 56-year-old man from South Windsor, did not survive.

The Camaro crashed into a parked car, flipped and crushed it, also taking down utility poles, and there was concern Sunday morning about live electrical wires. CL&P crews were busy on the scene for a few hours, and traffic was blocked.

Across the town line in Manchester, around 230 a.m., a white car crashed into a light post on Buckland Drive, near the mall in front of La-Z-Boy and Peppy’s Pizza. The male driver was killed, but his passenger made it out with just a few minor injuries.

Police in South Windsor and Manchester are seeking witnesses. If you know anything about either of these crashes, they would like to hear from you.
