Police Investigating Fatal Crash In Manchester

MANCHESTER — A man was killed in a crash on Buckland Hills Drive early Sunday.

The crash was reported around 2 a.m. when a male driver struck a light post in the 200 block of Buckland Hills Drive, police said. The man died but a passenger walked away with minor injuries.

Police said the driver, Ahad Malik, 27, of Vernon  was entrapped in a heavily damaged Subaru WRX and pronounced dead on scene. Police said that although it is early in the investigation, speed or driver impairment may have been factors in the crash.

The name of the involved individuals are not being released pending family notification.

The collision remains under investigation. Anyone with additional information or who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Officer Steven Koss, 860-645-5560.
