Early clouds and showers will clear out by the afternoon. It should be a spectacular father’s day with sunshine, low humidity and temperatures in the low 80s.
The frontal system and low pressure that delivered heavy rain and thunderstorms was in parts of Connecticut Friday continues to move off to the east today. Drier, cooler air will move in this weekend as high pressure will drift across the northeast delivering bright sun, blue skies and low humidity.
Temperatures will average in the low 80s, making for a good barbecue tomorrow afternoon for Father’s Day. Warmer air will move in from the west and southwest early next week with temperatures reaching the upper 80s. In fact, temperatures may top out near 90 by Wednesday with increasing humidity. However, the heat will not last long as a cold front will drop south with a band of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night into early Thursday, followed by clearing, cooler and dry conditions returning in time for Friday and next week end
