HARTFORD — Police say a window fell from the 20th floor of a Main Street building Sunday morning.

No one was hurt. The buiding at 777 Main St. is undergoing renovation and a broken window was dislodged in high winds around 8:15 a.m., Gerardo Vasquez of LVI Demolition, the site contractor, said. The window landed on the sidewalk in front of the building, Vasquez, the project manager, said.

Police, fire and public works personnel were on the scene. Some streets had been closed while the area was swept clean. Police were removing yellow tape at about 10:40 a.m.

The building is the former Bank of America Tower, now being converted into the largest apartment complex in downtown Hartford. Work began in early April on the 285 rental units — mostly studios and one-bedrooms — beginning with the upper floors of the 26-story building. The first units are expected to be ready by the end of the this year.

The building — opposite the Old State House — has been vacant since Bank of America relocated its offices to CityPlace I three years ago.
