EARLIER: In Hartford the rallying cry for USA soccer echoes all around. The well outfitted American Outlaws, Hartford chapter, are red, white and blue and 250 strong.

World Cup fever is not just on the pitch in Brazil it’s in also in Beechland Park in West Hartford. That’s where a few of the Hartford Outlaws, loyal US Soccer backers, kicked around the ball before the big tournament began. Team USA faces Ghana in the first round.

“I couldn’t even sleep, it was like Christmas morning,” said Kevin Hines a fan from Manchester.

Alex Robles of Hartford said in between kicks, “with the U.S playing it’s like magic for me.”

At game time, the majority of the Hartford Outlaws headed to watch the match versus Ghana at Damon’s Tavern in Hartford.
