AVON — A local doctor accused in January of sexually assaulting two patients was arraigned Wednesday on new charges that he assaulted nine additional patients.

Dr. Khosro Pourkavoos turned himself in to Avon police on June 4 and posted $195,000 bail. Police obtained arrest warrants charging him with seven counts of second-degree sexual assault and three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault.

Avon police Lt. Kelly Walsh said the new charges arose out of complaints filed with police after Pourkavoos’ initial arrest. The investigation continues, she said.

Pourkavoos was charged on Jan. 22 with three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and one count of second-degree sexual assault.

Avon police began investigating in June 2013 after a 38-year-old woman complained that Pourkavoos sexually assaulted her during medical office visits, police said.

One of the alleged assaults occurred in June when the woman went to his office on Nod Road to review blood test results. She said Pourkavoos touched her in a sexual manner while examining her, according to an arrest warrant.

The woman told police of another incident in May 2013 when she went to have a rash on her forearms and legs examined. She said Pourkavoos fondled her buttocks and breasts during that visit, the warrant says.

Investigators found the second alleged victim, a 26-year-old woman whose mother had posted a critical review of Pourkavoos on a health website. Investigators tracked down the woman who made the post and she gave them phone numbers for her two daughters.

The 26-year-old woman told police Pourkavoos pulled her pants off without notice and fondled her buttocks in February when she went to see him for lower back pain, according to a warrant. She said he touched her inappropriately again in May when she went to his office have a rash on her arms and stomach checked out, the warrant says.

The woman’s 24-year-old sister also told police that Pourkavoos had touched her inappropriately, but she did not want to file a complaint against the doctor, the warrant says.
