Welcome to 1940s-era Los Alamos, New Mexico.

You may not have been alive, but WGN America’s second original scripted series, “Manhattan,” will submerge you far enough into the world to feel as if you were a resident. The title “Manhattan” refers to the Manhattan Project, which the scientists living secret lives in New Mexico created in a race for survival.

The new scripted series follows those scientists, and their families, as they live and work in a town that itself is classified.

“Manhattan” was created and writen by Sam Shaw, known for his Showtime show “Masters of Sex,” and is directed by Thomas Schlamme, an Emmy Award-winning director for his work on “The West Wing.” The show is executive produced by Shaw, Schlamme, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Marcy Ross and Dustin Thompson. The show is filmed on location in New Mexico, and is produced by Lionsgate Television, Skydance Television and Tribune Studios.

“Manhattan” premieres Sunday, June 27 at 9 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CT, but you can catch a sneak peek in the trailer above and check out some photos of the cast below.
