Fireworks Displays Around The State Rescheduled Due To Rain

Fireowrks displays go hand in hand with Fourth of July celebrations, but as you heard we have a storm that’s going to pour down across the state on Independence Day.

We started hearing from city leaders yesterday about postponed firework shows, including right here in New Britain. Some communities are still waiting it out, but we’ll likely hear about more rescheduled shows later today. So be prepared to make some changes to your holiday plans.

Here’s the list of rescheduled shows we have so far:

  • Middletown postponed until 7/5
  • New Haven is postponing its entire celebration to Saturday, July 5
  • New Britain’s firework display, which draws thousands, will be moved to Saturday, July 5 as well.
  • West Haven, Derby, Norwalk, Shelton and Stratford were all originally scheduled for Thursday but are being moved to Saturday.
  • Westport’s display was moved to Monday, July 7
  • Naugatuck’s display was moved to Sunday, July 6
  • Boston’s famed display was moved up a day to tonight, July 3.
  • Lake Compounce’s display was postponed until Saturday, July 5.
  • Norwich’s display has been moved to Saturday, July 5.
